<div id="ygrps-yiv-660922916">Pre 9-11 was much easier.  In fact, I rarely saw a border patrol car.  Now<br/>
they&#39;re common.<br/>

Part of the problem is that there are three US agencies that don&#39;t really<br/>
communicate as well as they should.  Also, my assumption is that there was<br/>
probably a lot of finger pointing after 9-11 and everyone is sensitive.<br/>

Not to mention that we were poking around near the anniversary.  And during<br/>
a stage orange terrorist alert.  Whatever that means...<br/>
<br/>
And the fact that the media has been testing controls on the border, and<br/>
they dislike media folks for making them look bad.  I guess we got lumped in<br/>
with that.<br/>

And a lot of these people are imported from other places -- like the<br/>
Mexico-US border where controls were/are much stricter.<br/>
