So would I, now. I've just dug out a better map, and it's difficult
to see how a line of equidistance between Israel and Egypt could
feasibly skew far enough south.
In reply to Michael's point about absent treaties, I'm wading on
regardless with my EEZ boundary survey based on the Principle of
Maximum Greed, and using equidistance lines if a treaty doesn't
exist. In this case I think I'm reasonably future-proof, since the
critical balance is between Egypt+Jordan and Israel. I can't see
Egypt+Jordan accepting any treaty that would allow Israeli waters to
edge farther south than equidistance, or the Israelis accepting
anything that would push them farther north. And there are no awkward
offshore islands/rocks to muddy the issue.
