The "Oetzi" case perhaps may provide guidance...? The corpse was secured by Austrians, but lies in an Italian museum now, after some legal hassle.

Betreff: [BoundaryPoint] Murder on a Border

This may sound a bit pedantic, but I've been wondering what would
happen if a killer placed the corpse on an actual border. Say it was
on a straight line border between two independent countries and it
was clear that the body was actually in two countries.
What would happen? What if there were no clues as to which side the
murderer came from?
