Today, this area lies entirely in Ukraine about 160 km east of L´viv (or Lwów or Lemberg). Szumska is situated 35 km east from the town of Kremenec (or Krzemieniec or Kremenez). This area is about 300 km away from the tripoint PLSKUA.
For those slightly more history-oriented when it comes to boundaries. Szumska in 1908 has been ruled by Russian empire and the tsar, in 1918 occupied by the Austrian-German armies, in 1919 under the Polish government, by september 1939 ocuppied by Stalin's Soviet Union, by 1941 occupied by the German army, by 1944 occupied again by the Soviet army, and by the end of the Second World War firmly a part of the Ukrainian Soviet republic, and now since 1993 or something as a part of the independent Ukraine.
