The name is Szumsk in Polish (Szumska is the genetive case). A
postwar Soviet map:

the Russian name Šumskoe, on the Vilija river. It's about the biggest
settlement on this map.) Nowadays the name is Šums'k.

the Soviet army, and by the end of the Second World War firmly a part
of the Ukrainian Soviet republic, and now since 1993 or something as
a part of the independent Ukraine.
