Right, I think I know where this is - the road coming in from the
left and leaving towards Monschau at the bottom is the N258 (B258 on
your maps), and the minor road continuing along the border and
exiting stage right is heading towards Lammersdorf. Yes?
So that would make the island (if the island is indeed the bit marked
with a P) a Belgian enclave on German territory. How far did the
German ownership of the N258 extend? There's potentially a chunk of
Belgian countryside that could be carved off all the way south to the
point at which the road joins the border again.
