Most famous is Mödlareuth, nicknamed "Little Berlin". It was split
between Thuringia and Bavaria a couple of centuries ago (The
territories originally involved might have been different, but
Thuringia and Bavaria "inherited" the split, thus FRG and GDR did
too - can't find websites about the exact reason or timespan of the
border regulations right now ...), and was thus split by the Iron
Curtain during 1945/1990.
