Yes, and if there was a hot air balloon tied to this tower, and Mr.
Sparrow would have posted his call of nature on top of that?

If you build a long pier into sea, and make a, say, new nln in this
way, but violating sea boundaries that take as a basis the base line,
i.e. (+/-) the shore, you would get into trouble, I'd think. Maybe
it's time for baselines regulating the vertical...

You probably won't agree. But I agree that it is an interesting
question. Maybe not my _favourite_, but what the heck...
