it seems the alaskan in the pic was staking his states territorial sea <br/>
claim on some sandy ice that stood above high tide in winter but <br/>
disappeared in summer when the pic was taken<br/>
<br/>
the court ruled the ice cant count & so the seas he is standing in <br/>
plus 3nm all around him are federal rather than alaskan<br/>
<br/>
this & other gleanings of the day convince me i am on the right track <br/>
in pursuing & endeavoring to locate all 20 federal maritime tripoints <br/>
i have previously identified & scoped out but just need to assemble & <br/>
sift thru all the legal & cartological data before coming to any <br/>
further conclusions<br/>
<br/>
in particular all 4 of the gulf of mexico tripoints <br/>
latxus lamsus almsus & alflus <br/>
remain particularly problematic for various reasons<br/>
