it seems the alaskan in the pic was staking his states territorial sea
claim on some sandy ice that stood above high tide in winter but
disappeared in summer when the pic was taken
the court ruled the ice cant count & so the seas he is standing in
plus 3nm all around him are federal rather than alaskan
this & other gleanings of the day convince me i am on the right track
in pursuing & endeavoring to locate all 20 federal maritime tripoints
i have previously identified & scoped out but just need to assemble &
sift thru all the legal & cartological data before coming to any
further conclusions
in particular all 4 of the gulf of mexico tripoints

remain particularly problematic for various reasons
