Bill brings up a good point.  Without some sort of indexing tab on the cover  it is almost
impossible to put the cover back in exactly the correct positioin.  We had the same problem
at the 6th Principal Meridian on the KS-NE line.  The cover was not oriented correctly. We
tried to put it back in the correct position but it most probably was a few degrees off.
That's one reason why the below grade fixed plate is the defining tri-point, not the manhole
cover.  A better solution is the IN-MI-OH tri-point cover which is square thus simplifying
getting the correct orientation.

Mike, did you be sure to "re-orient" the cover plate when you resealed it?  That would really give subsequent visitors something to think about...
