No. For the simple reason that many people in the Netherlands
wouldn't like it and some would even be offended. Limburgian and
Frisian people, for example, don't like it when it is said to them
they live in Holland. Because they don't live in Holland.

Remember also that it was Belgium that split away from the
Netherlands (not unlike Bangladesh/Pakistan), and it was not a case
of a country that split in two, creating two countries (like
Czechoslovakia).

BTW: the name Belgium (Belgica) is the name of an old province of the
Roman empire, and later became the Latin name for, yes, the
Netherlands. "Leo Belgicus" was the Latin translation of "the Dutch
(=Netherlandic) Lion". So the Netherlands and Belgium at one stage
meant the same, i.e. the original 17 provinces.
