per the ibs & according to the various treaties cited
by them
the tripoint falls on the thalweg of the rio negro
near the great rock of cucui
& just southeast of an island named san jose
which however is expressly cut in half by the brco
convergent arriving from the southwest
oops

& tho it is easy enough to identify the rock of cucui
in the satpic as the northernmost of the 2 or 3 orange
blobs just east of the tripoint area
& to then also identify san jose island in all
probability as the one that is cut in half by the
incorrectly bent as well as incorrectly positioned
google earth cove border
yikes
nevertheless the above legal description
even when not further muddled by erroneous border
overlays
does produce a geographical impossibility in its own
right

moreover there are at least 2 additional anomalies in
the treaty texts
which all together make the situation far too
complicated to resolve satisfactorily in any case
at least for me
at this great distance & with such poor & conflicting
data

no better map than encarta has yet turned up
http://encarta.msn.com/encnet/features/mapcenter/map.aspx?TextLatitude=39.45&TextLongitude=-98.907&TextAltitude=0&TextSelectedEntity=39070&SearchEnc=false&MapStyle=Comprehensive&MapSize=Large&MapStyleSelectedIndex=0&searchTextMap=cucui&MapStylesList=Comprehensive&ZoomOnMapClickCheck=on
which is not adequate to show the island even at
tightest zoom level
but does illustrate fairly well the least of the
anomalies
which is
that the geodetic brco & brve convergents are indeed
supposed to converge with the living thalweg carrying
the cove convergent
all exactly as shown
in a hypothetical triple coincidence that no real
thalweg would ever stand still for

nevertheless i can still scrunch everything together &
give you my best guessed tripoint stretching diagram
such as it is
which is again attached as usual
but with the most extreme collection of caveats yet
assembled
& some not even mentioned

moreover in fairness to jespers pushpin i should
probably add that a brazilian source concedes the
entire san jose island to colombia
but i figured if in doubt he himself would prefer a
divided island to an undivided one
