i drifted off from grand isle yesterday overland<br/>

toward chfrgr<br/>
the tripoint in my friends living room window<br/>
with the intention of continuing toward the horizon<br/>
beyond & to the chfrla tripoint in particular <br/>
by following along the chittenden franklin county line<br/>

which so conveniently proceeds southeastward from the<br/>
chfrgr tripoint <br/>
on what appears to be the exact same bearing from the<br/>
living room <br/>
<br/>
in fact if chfrgr & chfr had been visible <br/>
chfr might have been hidden by chfrgr anyway <br/>
when viewed from the living room<br/>
<br/>
or in other words <br/>
if chfr had continued thru the chfrgr tripoint <br/>
it might have run right thru the living room<br/>
<br/>
so not only was the tripoint cosmically made to order<br/>
for the window<br/>
but so was the continuation from it <br/>
<br/>
<br/>
nevertheless<br/>
that is practically all she wrote in terms of the<br/>
ensuing adventure<br/>
which proved entirely elusive on many levels<br/>
<br/>
first of all<br/>
i couldnt print a copy of the topo at the library<br/>
so i was working only from a rough sketch of the<br/>
target area & my aaa major road atlas<br/>
neither of which was much help<br/>
<br/>
but when it came down to the nitty gritty of actually<br/>
finding any trace of the chfr county line on the<br/>
ground<br/>
it was zilch<br/>
<br/>
no signs<br/>
no road seams<br/>
no nothing<br/>
<br/>
i realize that that could be in part because the<br/>
boundary is indefinite<br/>
as are most if not all the county & town lines in<br/>
vermont<br/>
<br/>
& indeed <br/>
after searching far & wide & hard<br/>
i have yet to find any trace of any county lines<br/>
anywhere in vermont<br/>
let alone any official markers<br/>
& perhaps only a single unofficial shire welcome sign<br/>
<br/>
<br/>
but i was able to proceed with the chfrla try to some<br/>
extent anyway<br/>
even without benefit of this map centered on it<br/>

reach within a quarter of a mile of it at one point<br/>
even if only by wild guessing<br/>
for i realize all this only now & with the benefit of<br/>
hindsight<br/>

but i wouldnt even have known where to stop & park the<br/>
car to make a real try for it<br/>
while i was actually there circling around it<br/>
<br/>
so<br/>
that is an extremely elusive class e<br/>
& at this point i would be a little surprised &<br/>
delighted if vermont even proves to have any county or<br/>
tricounty markers<br/>
<br/>
& in general the counties of vermont appear to be<br/>
about as nonfunctional as the counties of connecticut<br/>
<br/>
so perhaps a town tripoint is more likely to be found<br/>
in vermont than any specifically tricounty point<br/>
<br/>
but this is all just speculation<br/>
& more from the absence of data than with benefit of<br/>
any particular indications actually found <br/>

well anyway<br/>
i have since drifted back home to connecticut<br/>
leaving interior vermont still practically virgin<br/>
country<br/>
but the overall outing is expected to continue after a<br/>
brief inning<br/>
just to take care of something else that has risen to<br/>
the top here<br/>
tho apparently devoid thus far of any multipointing<br/>
implications <br/>
