Agreement about R between the Estonian republic and the Russian Federation about the differentiation of sea spaces in the Narva and Gulf of Finland

Estonian republic and Russian Federation, further named sides, desiring to demarcate sea spaces in the Narva and Gulf of Finland on the basis of the principles of the respect for the national sovereignty and territorial integrity, approaching the development of the good neighborly relations between both states, takeing into account the positions of the convention of the United Nations on the maritime law of 10 December, 1982, agreed about that be followinging:

Article 1 line of the differentiation of sea spaces between the Estonian republic and the Russian Federation in the Narva and Gulf of Finland (further - the line of differentiation) is based on the middle line, drawn in such a way that each of its points appears the equidistant from the nearest points line of lowest tide along the coast (including islands) both states. The initial point of the line of differentiation (point 1) lies at the mouth of river Narva and coincides with the end point of the land section of the state border between the Estonian republic and the Russian Federation. The end point of the line of differentiation (point 9) is located at the point of the joint of the lines of the differentiation of the sea spaces of 2 Estonian republics, Russian Federation and Finnish republics, which is determined by the separate agreement between these three states.

Article 2 lines of differentiation passes along the straight lines (loxodromics), which connect points with the following geographical coordinates:
- in the system of coordinates of 1942 (ellipsoid of Krasovskiy):

The enumerated points and the line of differentiation are designated on the accompanying Russian nautical chart 22061 (INT 1214) the scale of 1:250 000 publications 1997.

The enumerated points and the line of differentiation are designated on the accompanying Estonian map of scale 1:250 000 (special publication 1998). The description of the corresponding points of the line of differentiation in the coordinate systems indicated is equivalent. Estonian and Russian the chart with respect to graphic line records of differentiation indicated compile the integral part of the present agreement. With the interpretation of present article the decisive importance has the description of the passage of the line of differentiation given in it.
