which you may recall unexpectedly turned up looking<br/>
very possibly wet as well as very possibly unmarked<br/>
last week<br/>

& thus threw into question the very feasibility of my<br/>
quest for all 44 berkshire tri town markers<br/>
was finally visited or at least tried this afternoon<br/>
at very close range<br/>
<br/>
& in a nutshell<br/>
no marker was found at the tripoint position indicated<br/>
on the topo<br/>
neither anywhere near the pond <br/>
nor anywhere in sight within the pond<br/>
<br/>
the attached photo was taken from the best guessed<br/>
tripoint position facing southeast toward the dam &<br/>
pond outlet at center<br/>
just so you can see what i was facing while my hopes<br/>
of completion were pretty much tho not quite<br/>
absolutely dashed<br/>
<br/>
but realizing i needed a confirmational reading from<br/>
the border bible before giving up the entire project<br/>
as being ultimately undoable<br/>
i drove straight downtown to the pittsfield library<br/>
which however i found is closed on sundays<br/>
<br/>
so that brought & brings everything to at least a<br/>
screeching halt <br/>
if not a total abandonment of the overall perfect<br/>
ensemble try<br/>
<br/>
earlier today tho <br/>
we completed hipewi<br/>
of which a second photo is attached showing jc holding<br/>
its broken p<br/>
& we also lightly probed dapiwa & lnpiwa & lnpiri en<br/>
route to hapiri<br/>
<br/>
which left the possibly final score at <br/>
18 down & 9 up with 17 left for perhaps only 43 rather<br/>
than 44 right<br/>
pending the necessary bible reading<br/>
<br/>
& finally<br/>
if there is room<br/>
also attached are pix of our hosts isaac & brock at<br/>
hipewa yesterday<br/>
& likewise of jc taking another bow while hovering<br/>
over dahiwa<br/>
also yesterday<br/>
just to get them all off my chest<br/>

but hipewi & dahiwa are both great stories that i<br/>
reserve the right to tell some time in their own right<br/>

whether i ever resume the overall try or not<br/>
