oops
fell asleep there myself

but to continue & recap
with benefit of morning light
probably the most critical moment of the day yesterday
occurred just where i left off in the previous message
or
as i was proceeding from the second point of the
planned sequence
namely mooty
to the third
aka beotty
but was dumbfounded to find myself already on the
approach pattern for the 4th try in the planned string
of 6
belety

& as i pondered what such a cosmic joke meant & what
to do about it
i was already pointed willy nilly into the appalachian
trail parking area which
again by coincidence
is also provided for belety

but i still couldnt be sure if this was a very
meaningful event or not
since i knew my sequencing was entirely arbitrary to
begin with
& had already established that it isnt even possible
to visit all 44 tri berkshire points in a single
continuous train anyway
as you can also pronounce for yourself almost as soon
as you try it
on this otherwise useless pronouncing map
http://www.worcestermass.com/pronounce/berkshirecounty.shtml

but even if there was no objective sequence to follow
or break
what would happen if i scrambled my own subjective
plan for the world record try

& since i could only answer this by trying it
& was so perfectly poised to do so
i quit fussing over point 3 & simply proceeded with
point 4

the appalachian trail delivered me across the mass
pike on foot bridges
& i soon found the little dry creek that the topo
suggested i climb southward to the tripoint
& happily it was wet enough to sawanabori & even
entertain visions of reaching & drinking from a
tripoint spring

but i found the lety town line was also marked with
pink ribbons
affording another silver plattered delivery in any
case
to a gold blazed belety rock in this case with a nail
in her top dimple
& with no spring but at least a pool to drink near her
foot

i then doubled back & tried again to grope my way onto
my beotty topo swatch
but after merely getting lost
i decided i would save this one for later in the hope
of getting another chance to scope it out on topozone
at a library stop before the day was over

so i continued on to belewa
who should have been 5th
& made her 4th
http://topozone.com/map.asp?z=18&n=4685173&e=651649&s=50&size=l&datum=nad83&layer=DRG25

the side road leading north toward the tripoint from
becket road was gated so i walked it
wondering all the while exactly how i would home in on
the target

at first i thought to just continue bushwhacking with
a nnw beeline from the point where the trail turns due
north
but the woods were too dense there
so i just continued on the trail hoping i would get
some further clue

now i had been noticing an occasional pink ribbon on
this trail too
but since i couldnt explain these as the usual town
line markers
i wondered if they might not have been left there by
the same town line survey people as aids in finding
these markers

& when at length i saw a pair of pink ribbons on the
left at right angles to the trail
i figured they might just be pointing to the tripoint
which i calculated should lie 132 paces along their
line if so
& tho there were no other pink ribbons to follow in
this case
i walked straight to the rock
which i first saw dead ahead at 120 paces
& reached on the 130th
an undressed & possibly natural rock outcrop with a
mod blue doo
but strongly suggesting 18th century

i must check the date in the bible tho

from there i decided to continue to the planned 6th
tripoint
lelewa
to try her for the 5th of the day
http://topozone.com/map.asp?z=18&n=4691736&e=645225&s=50&size=l&datum=nad83&layer=DRG25
but she was particularly resistant

for again i couldnt find my way to the right topo
swatch for a long time
& even when i thought i had finally bumbled onto it
my locational identifications were still tantalizingly
inconclusive

& i was beginning to wonder again if the very fact of
my being out of order wasnt costing me all hope of a
successful sexipopper
when
i saw the bears

first the mother at about 50 yards
whose pic i will have to attach to the next message
since this one is full
so please stand by
& then the cub
70 or 80 feet up in a tree
