re the denj arc
no maps have yet been found associated with the 1905 denj compact that
the special master based his recommendation on in 1934
& which i may only have wrongly presumed was the basis for the location
of the arc

& the text of the compact makes no specific mention of the location of
this arc either
but only refers to the 12 mile circle generally
yikes

so that is a most peculiar apparent dead end

& they are going to have to get back to me on it in case they missed
something

i am still pretty satisfied tho that i did find among the map exhibits
at least a 1925 regeneration of whatever map was used to set the
location
whenever & however it actually was agreed upon

so the graphical source of the determination of the location is known
even if not yet the exact cause of its weirdness

& the 1893 hodgkins & 1908 mathews reports from the bus&ss bibliography
that are indispensable for other & related questions have been acting
similarly elusive

so i may have hit a multiple brick wall here
especially as my researcher is about to head out to lunch now
