On my travels through the Galician mountains I came to the town of<br/>
Ponferrada. A few kilometres southwest of Ponferrada - I could not believe<br/>
my own eyes - I came to a small village with the name &quot;Villalibre sin<br/>
Jurisdicción&quot; - a free town without jurisdiction.<br/>

Searching in the web did not produce an explanation for the background of<br/>
this mysterious name. Does anybody have a clue?<br/>

Although this has nothing to do with boundarypoints, borderpoints, nor<br/>
borders, it may have something to do with frontiers. My Spanish was too weak<br/>
to enquire locally, not to mention my Gallego that I would have had to<br/>
speak. So, dear freaks, tell me what this is all about.<br/>
