which bank of the river do they all show atchlin to be on

we already think we know from treaty texts that the thalweg is
correct

so maybe the thalweg just comes very close to a bank at the
triple convergence

if true then that would be good for the expedition to know

but it is hard to believe a living thalweg is ever dry except in arid
desert regions
even if 3 or more official maps do apparently agree in saying so

also whatever their sensibility & claim to authority
they could still all derive in part from a single erroneous source

so there are reasons to reserve final judgment
tho i would agree this persistent weird version of reality cant just
be dismissed out of hand without being somehow accounted for
