The maps at http://tinyurl.com/2dl45 and http://tinyurl.com/2kuru show that the
railroad is/was in a tunnel passing just south of the tripoint.

thats funny

do you mean you spotted traces of a railway on the ground here
or just the apparent alignment as suggested by this map

i believe the bedenl rock itself may date from 1816
whereas railroads date back only to about 1825
so it is hard to imagine how there could really have been a true
tripoint railway here at any time

perhaps the above dates are off tho
or perhaps a subway or an elevated line might have been
possible without disturbing the rock itself

but do you know exactly where or when this railway did blow thru
here
& are there any pix or other data
or just this likeable supposition
