Border Expedition experience tells us that planning doesn't mean beans
to borderfreaks. I'm sure expedition mastermind Peter Hering must
shake his head at us as we destroy the most liberal driving schedule.

On the first expedition I believe we were always several hours behind
schedule when we pulled into our resting place. And then there was one
night in eastern Germany...

So 2 weeks to do a North American border expedition is possible, but
not very realistic. However, removing the Alaska - Washington segment
would help considerably.

From my own experience, by car:

Vancouver -> Calgary is 12 hours.
Calgary -> Winnipeg is 12 hours.
Winnipeg -> Marquette, MI (via Duluth) is about 16 hours.
Marquette -> Cornwall, ON (Via Sarnia/Pt. Huron) is 14 hours.
Cornwall -> Bangor, ME is 12.
And Bangor -> Halifax, NS is an inconsequential 9 hours.

The point of all those hours? Not much. But it would be a hell of a
trip! Who's interested?
