Assuming that the inquiry wasn't academic, here's why: Because
Michael wrote that a prior message led to this question in his mind:
"...which manmade segments are NOT straight?". Len in turn asked his
question in order to elicit whether members exist who believe there
could be something beside man that could work and make borders.

Yep. Definitely. You can easily spot the implication if you rephrase
the question and leave "manmade" out of it, and then parse the
differences between the two. With the modifier "manmade", the
question encompasses only a portion of the universe of border creators.

If there are other such creatures "out there", the posed question
doesn't contemplate considering any curvy borders "they" might have
made. But, hey, as long as we're exploring the manmade ones...
