I got my copy of Comet, Lonely Planet's newsletter (LP is a travel
guide publisher) and saw a Top 5 travel list created by our own Rolf
Palmberg. Here is his list:

TOP 5

Rolf Palmberg adds a whole new dimension to going abroad with his Top
5 One Foot in Each Camp:

1. De Biergrens is a divided beer distributing shop in Baarle-Hertog
(Belgium)/Baarle-Nassau (The Netherlands). The international border
goes straight through the shop, leaving the owners with different sets
of rules for taxes and opening hours depending on which part of the
shop the goods are in.

2. Drogisterij Camp, also in Baarle-Hertog/Baarle-Nassau, comprises
an undivided pharmacy and the owner's divided home. Part of the family
sleeps in one country, part in the other, even though they are all in
the same bedroom!

3. Gostilna Kalin is a divided restaurant in the divided village of
Bregana (Croatia/Slovenia). Here you can eat in either country (or in
both countries at the same time!), but you have to pay and go to the
toilet in Slovenia.

4. The border goes straight through Cafe Moskes in Dreef
(Belgium)/Kersel (The Netherlands), another favourite split eating
place.

5. The innermost metre of a divided garage in Valga (Estonia)/Valka
(Latvia) is in Latvia, a fact that gives the owners ample opportunity
to go abroad without any border formalities.

Now Rolf, which guide did you get (The prize for getting a list
published) ?
