Remember that Zilupe is a rather small river - about 5 meter broad and
probably only 2-3 metres deep. It's a question if it after all has any
continous thalweg. Neverica is much smaller, probably 1-2 metres deep.
But Nemunas (ltru) is following the thalweg, so at the bridges there is a
threedimensional boundary.

The web page at
http://home.no.net/enklaver/borders/tf_close-up.htm
says that the boundaries follow "the middle of the two streams."

Is this meant to say that the boundaries are median lines, not thalwegs? I
know
that a fluvial boundary typically implies the thalweg, but sometimes a
treaty or
other delimitation specifies the median line instead. I live eleven miles
from
a USA state boundary that is the median line of a river.
