I'll look forward to finding out what the Ellis Island team finds from their excursion to the island in the quest to find the border.
I did the same thing last year, and there were no indications whatsoever that there was a state line running through the island and through buildings. I even asked a couple of shop employees, and they looked at me in disbelief--they knew nothing of the arbitration and the results of the boundary decision. I specifically asked about sales tax on souvenir items, and they said it was all New York sales tax throughout the shops.
It appears, however, that the souvenir shop I was in is now located officially in New Jersey!
