Yes, it's a separate section of the terminal and handles domestic flights
from France. Passengers can take bus connections to French territory
without entering Switzerland.

Never tried I'm afraid, as I've always used the Swiss section. I'd imagine
you need a boarding card and have to go through passport control.

There is a similar arrangement at Mulhouse airport which serves both France
(Mulhouse) and Switzerland (Basel) and has a transit corridor to
Switzerland. It also serves Germany (Freiburg), but Schengen makes a
fenced-off corridor unnecessary. However, Switzerland is also supposed to
be joining Schengen, so their corridor will probably not be needed in the
future.
