the genius who confirmed & manipulated the 180 dots redefining the new ellis <br/>
island njny boundary<br/>
& who testified about them for 4 days before the supreme court<br/>
etc etc<br/>

first<br/>
he cant confirm that anything at all remains pending<br/>
but believes the new boundary has already long been finalized<br/>
based on his 180 dots & very minor renegotiation with new york<br/>
all presumably approved soon thereafter by special master & full court<br/>
but i will be getting another callback from a colleague of his to confirm or <br/>
correct that<br/>

second<br/>
he is enthusiastic about performing the complete computation of the state <br/>
line length on our behalf<br/>
but it might take a few days<br/>

third<br/>
the discrepancy between the supposedly original area of roughly 3 acres & <br/>
the reportedly adjudicated area of roughly 5 acres involved only the <br/>
confusion or substitution of tidal levels by someone<br/>
as surmised earlier<br/>
& thus there was actually no change in the boundary directly made by the <br/>
court<br/>
except that of partially substantiating & incidentally defractalizing it<br/>
& thereafter<br/>
only a very slight change in the boundary was agreed to by the states<br/>
based purely on splitting the difference of the sole remaining uncertainty <br/>
in the pier area<br/>

other tidbits<br/>
the retrofitting of the 1857 map to the 1995 landscape was extremely <br/>
difficult<br/>
but was solved by alignments not only with 2 turnpoints of the old fort on <br/>
ellis island but with a third point on a breakwater on liberty island<br/>
since the 1857 map included both islands<br/>
& liberty island hasnt changed a bit since then except for the addition of <br/>
the statue & the name change<br/>

the boundary zigzags &or runs straight across lots of stuff<br/>
including the concession area that generates all the tax revenue that <br/>
comprises the entire income currently produced by the island for both <br/>
parties<br/>
<br/>
as a leading creator of this revolutionary & wacky new boundary<br/>
rich was pleased to learn that the additional honor of nothing less than the <br/>
shortest state line in america is what now hangs in the balance here for it<br/>
