"HOW CAN MEXLIST BE FREE?"
MEXLIST is supported almost entirely by voluntary
donations. Yahoo Groups pays for its own functions with advertising.

"WILL I GET SPAMMED?"
Not because of MEXLIST! Please read the MEXLIST
Privacy Policy regarding unwanted email.

"HOW DO I SET UP MY EMAIL PROGRAM FOR MEXLIST?"
If you wish to post, add "MEXLIST" to your program's address book with the email address of "mexlist@yahoogroups.com".

"HOW DO I POST TO MEXLIST?"
Send your posts to
mexlist@yahoogroups.com from an email account that is subscribed to MEXLIST. Your message will be distributed as soon as it is approved by the Administrator. This usually takes no more than a few hours.

"WHAT MATERIAL IS APPROPRIATE TO POST?"
Appropriate material includes news, sightings, questions, answers, history, web sites, trip reports, media reviews, re-posts, and almost anything factual that relates to the topic of Mexican railways, regardless of where it happens. Please respect copyrighted material.

"WHAT MATERIAL IS NOT APPROPRIATE TO POST?"
Inappropriate material includes non-factual opinions, comments on Mexican or non-Mexican politics, spam, flames, chain letters, virus alerts, ASCII art, anything in bad taste, copyrighted material, and general or railfan material unrelated to the topic of Mexican railways. Inappropriate material will not be approved for distribution.

"MAY I POST ATTACHMENTS?"
Only image attachments may be posted to the group. Please do not embed images in your posts. If the material is text, copy and paste it into the body of your message. If it is on a web site, post the URL.

"MAY I RE-POST FROM OTHER GROUPS AND NEWSGROUPS?"
Yes, if the material is appropriate to the topic of MEXLIST. Please forward the post rather than sending it as an attachment. If necessary, copy and paste the material into the body of a new message.

"MAY I RE-POST MEXLIST POSTS ELSEWHERE?"
Certainly! Please be sure to include the MEXLIST URL, which is at the bottom of each post. Readers might like to join us.

"HOW SHOULD I REPLY TO POSTS?"
Replies of interest to the general membership may be posted to MEXLIST, but other replies should be sent to the author individually.

"ARE PAST POSTS ARCHIVED?"
The
MEXLIST Message Archive contains posts since February 26, 1999.

"WHAT IF I'VE FORGOTTEN MY YAHOO GROUPS PASSWORD?"
The Administrator does not know your password and cannot tell you what it is. Go to the
Yahoo Groups web site and follow the directions given there. As a last resort, you can unsubscribe, then subscribe again with a new password.

"IS A DAILY DIGEST OPTION AVAILABLE?"
Yes. This allows you to receive one daily digest of MEXLIST posts instead of each individual message. Send a request to the
MEXLIST Administrator.

"HOW CAN I GET REMOVED FROM MEXLIST?"
For permanent removal, send a blank email message to
mexlist-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com. For a temporary stop, see the following question.

"CAN I GET MY MESSAGES STOPPED TEMPORARILY?"
Yes. This is most useful when you go on vacation. Send a request to the
MEXLIST Administrator whenever your want your messages stopped or restarted.

"WHO RUNS MEXLIST?"
MEXLIST was founded and is administered by Lowell G. McManus of Eagle Pass, Texas, USA, a retired educator whose experience with travel, research, and writing related to the Mexican nation and its railways began in 1977. The Deputy Administrator is the noted locomotive and railway historian Michael M. Palmieri of Fort Worth, Texas, USA.
