Dear Michael,
thanks for your mail. I'm still a bit confused, please enlighten me about your reasons for withdrawing from our expedition at this early stage....:
Yes, we'll be crossing numerous borders on our GCEBE. However, I'm sure you are aware of the existence of the socalled "Schengen" agreement between
most of the Western European members of the European Union that waives
border control between "Schengen" (a tiny village very close to the LuFrGE-tripoint !) states. In reality the only countries in Europe maintaining border controls are Switzerland, Denmark, UK and Ireland and of course the former
Eastern European countries. In reality we won't be bothered by any border
officials before we reach Slovenia...! Furthermore, even former Communist countries are today trying hard to become member of the E.U. and thus
trying to impress outsiders - and tourists - by being as liberal as possible !
So, personal belongings like medicin would very hardly become the subject
of any search or reason for bad treatment at borders. In other words, there's
nothing to fear ! As stated in my first itinerary: I have been a tour-leader for
many, many years and do know Europe (and most of the world) quite well.
Please reconsider - many warm regards from Denmark
Peter
