There are several Western European Countries not communist countries that still have strict (look at your passport) border control.  These include the Westernmost European but not continental, Iceland former colony of Denmark and<br/>
Norway also former colony of Denmark keep up border control in addition to the European (Soviet) Union.<br/>
For those afraid of border control.  I have this to say.  In the past I visited this three countries in August.  Soviet Union, PR China and USA.  The strictest border control was in USA, then USSR and finally in China.  Border<br/>
control is not liberal or democratic in liberal democratic countries or the countries that want to be.  The border control in Denmark is usually very relaxed if you are of the Nordic origin.<br/>
