The "Marine 4 points" thread brings me to a question I've been willing to
ask. The attached map is from my old school atlas (Diercke), approx. 1971.
It's a combined topical map showing territorial waters and tidal waves in
the North Sea.

The legend for the yellow bands says:
"Borders on the continental shelf according to the Geneva Convention of 1958".

Questions:
- Is this depiction correct?
- Is it still effective today?

All the other elements in the map (the red bands, blue arrows and blue
shades) are about tides and tidal waves.
