swamp in South Carolina. There used to be a small community near that <br/>
swamp also named Wassamassaw. Now there&#39;s just the Wassamassaw Church <br/>
located a short distance from where that community used to be. At <br/>
least that&#39;s what the Geologic Survey map shows.<br/>
