Sorry I didn't clarify SMOM. It is The Sovereign Military and Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and of Malta, and it is argued to be the smallest country in the world, much smaller even than the Vatican City. It is a sovereign and independent entity, recognized by the UN as a permanent observer, and it has bilateral diplomatic ties with 92 nations, which have all recognized its sovereignty. Its territory is limited to two buildings in Rome. I visited there two years ago and posted a couple of pictures on BP shortly after my visit--I don't remember the message numbers. Anyway, it is a charitable organization that is also a sovereign 'nation'.

A 'sovereign territory' can presumably only be sovereign in the legal
sense, if it's recognised by other sovereign territories. Sealand and Hutt
River Province also claim to be sovereign territories, but unfortunately
(for them) they're recognised by no-one else. The likes of Northern Cyprus
and Palestine lie somewhere in between as they're recognised by some
countries, but not others.
