Beijing Environment, Science and Technology Update January 3, 2003<br/>
<br/>
China&#39;s first map delineating legally-binding provincial boundaries was <br/>
recently completed.  A joint project of the Ministry of Civil Affairs and <br/>
the State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping, the 1:4,000,000 scale map will <br/>
be printed by the China Cartographic Publishing House.  The provincial <br/>
boundaries of the new map incorporate some 3,104 demarcation agreements <br/>
recognized by the bordering provinces and approved by the State <br/>
Council.  (Xinhua, December 25)<br/>
