Hi all,

I've been basically offline for the last
two weeks, and am now trying to conquer my
very overfilled email inbox.

Just a few comments on my use of the terms
enclave and exclave. I'm only interested in
land borders, so, as Peter S correctly pointed out,
my definitions do not consider sea borders at all.

One of my dictionaries, though, uses the term
enclave as an umbrella term for all the various
types of enclaves that Arif listed, and, on top of
that, it says that you can use the term for anything
that is enclosed by something that is not the same
as that the thing inside. So you can in fact use the term
enclave about language groups, races, animals etc, all
depending on your topic.
