 </span></blockquote>The Cyprus Sovereign Base Areas have a unique status. Whilst they are <br/>
administered by the UK, they are not part of the UK, nor considered to be <br/>
full British Overseas Territories.<br/>

An act was recently passed by the UK Parliament to restore full British <br/>
citizenship to the citizens of the British Overseas Territories (which they <br/>
lost in 1981 when they were &#39;downgraded&#39; to British Overseas or British <br/>
Dependent Territories citizens). However, residents of the Cyprus Sovereign <br/>
Base Areas who are not full British citizens are specifically excluded from <br/>
this.<br/>
