are the surprisingly interesting texts of the 1999 congressional markup &
hearing
which may have caused ksmone to move about 3quarters of a mile eastward on
new years day 2000
to the middle of the present channel of the missouri river
from the middle of its former channel in an oxbow lake
as may be observed in the details of this almost seamless montage of old
maps along the ksne line

the upper one of which actually anticipated the new position by several
years
& artfully hides the old position that was correctly indicated on the lower
map
thats right
for many years usgs disagreed with itself about this tripoint on adjacent
quads
&
i still havent managed to verify whether the congressional ratification has
been completed
but when i visited ksmone a few years ago
i made sure to commune with both the old & new positions
just to cover all bets for at least as long as the uncertainty lasts
also
in a rare instance of congressional consent to an interstate compact before
its technical completion
the same markup & hearing helped usher gascus to a definite position for the
first time by 2004
on the north edge of the savannah river shipping channel 3nm seaward of its
mouth
as can be observed in the details of this map
http://topozone.com/map.asp?z=17&n=3546342&e=514094&s=200&symshow=n
this tripoint i unwittingly photographed from tybee island in march
as i was deliberately visiting gae to complete my news tour of georgia
the largest known entity btw ever to have been so toured
but again i am not sure if that tripoint had been fully ratified by that
time either
nor even if it has been yet
as the pic looks like practically any beach in the world but eats over 500k
i will spare you the attachment & leave it & all the others of its kind to
your imagination
