I don't know if I agree 100 % with you. Some local Russians here has told me that there is something in their songs and myths which says that they are more Asian than European, but this I do not know very much about.

By the way, I think it was Stalin that said that Russians are "really" Asians. And this was expanded to the fellow socialist peoples in eastern and central Europe. They didn't like it; nor do most Russians like it now.
