Here are some still images I took with my video camera.  Photographs are coming soon.

Descriptions:

"house-looking-east.jpg" is the home of Dora and Lyle Hurtibuse.  These are the folks that were featured in the Burlington Free Press article posted here some weeks ago.  Their farm, and their house, lies directly on the border.  This shot, looking east, shows their home and a bordermarker in the foreground.  Canada is to the left.  The border isn't marked in their home, but basically runs between the two windows.  I visited with them for several hours.  They were very nice.  Their home is located just west of the border crossing on  Quebec highway 139.

"pavement-change-abercorn.jpg"  is a shot of the pavement change on Highway 139 at the official crossing (about 1km east of the Hurtibuse house).

"marker599-abercorn-pq.jpg" is the border marker at the official crossing.

"hurtibuse-house.jpg" is taken from the highway 139 crossing looking west.  I've added a faint line to show where the border is.

"vermont-marker.jpg"  I've never seen one of these before -- a marker showing the state boundary of Vermont.  This is located at the crossing on Interstate 91/Autoroute 55 -- east of Derby Line, VT - Stanstead, PQ.

More to come!!
