 </span></blockquote>I think you need to take both geophysical and cultural ties into account. <br/>
Clearly Australia and New Zealand are so far removed from Europe that it <br/>
would be ridiculous to make them part of that continent, but exceptions <br/>
could be made in &#39;border&#39; areas where the vast majority of the population <br/>
claim to belong to a particular continent. Examples would be Cyprus, and <br/>
the Caucasus and Caribbean regions. In some cases this as already been done <br/>
as there&#39;s no particular geophysical reason why Iceland should be <br/>
considered part of Europe instead of North America.<br/>
