If we define the Canaries as Europe, then they win in the max average
and max low competition.

If not, my vote goes for Crete as warmest average. Parts of mainland
Spain may have higher maxes, but I think they get cooler in winter
(or what passes as "winter" down there).

But just guessing, I haven't done the statistics :).
