Interesting is that the Thuringian quarter has a cut-off corner. The
letters GSW and the year 1877 are on a triangle which is oblique
vis-a-vis all other (straight) sides of the stone.

The Hessian side bears the letters KH (Kur-Hessen?), the Bavarian side
KB (Kingdom of Bavaria) and W (I think Wuerzburg, the capital of the
Bavarian district of Lower Franconia). Another side bears the letters
LG (Landesgrenze?)."

I think the Hesse side bears the letters KP, which must be the
Kingdom of Prussia. Sorry, but I couldn't remember, and it's a bit
difficult to tell from the photograph. I should write things down at
the spot, not only take pictures...

BTW, the picture of the top of this boundary marker is interesting.
Did you ever see the Iron Curtain from straight above? (Well, 13
years after the abolishment thereof, of course, but still).
