I agree that it is a very odd thing! But earlier the c thing according to how I have understood it, should be the "balancing point" of the country/area not counting offshore waters. This is at least how I have understood Institut Geographique National. If you could cut out a map of Norway including all islands and making all waters excluding lakes, the balansing point of NO would be at Mosjøen (Vefsn kommune). The bend of Norway is not that big!
 
But, of course it might be other ways to find the c point. I really do not mean that the DK way is wrong, only a bit «unexpected». But if it is ok for the Danes it is ok for me, too!   ;-)
