Not anymore. The street is called Stateline Rd., but there's nothing fancy
about it. In fact, the border isn't really marked on the lake side. If
you drive Loop Rd. around the back of the casinos, though, signs are posted
to the effect you are entering another town, not another state. The only
markers on the main road are a small "Welcome to California" sign on the
light at the border and a corresponding green "NEVADA STATE LINE" on the
other side.
South Lake Tahoe is much bigger than Stateline, so nowadays it stays up
into the wee hours as well.
