Having been in State Line Nevada, South Lake Tahoe California, and
Flin Flon Manitoba I figured I would chime in.

At least in 1972, the street that divides State Line and South Lake
Tahoe had a state line painted down the middle. Also, at about 9PM
they roll up the sidewalks and turn out the lights in South Lake Tahoe
but State Line continues to party hearty.

I believe the town of Flin Flon is entirely within Manitoba. It
exists solely because of a large mine that occupies most of the
surrounding area. I think they are mining silver, copper, and gold.
I have a rather heavy piece of ore I picked up along the road. The
whole area looks like a moonscape. Most of the surface is bare rock
and much of the nearby black spruce forest is burned.

The most interesting boundary phenomenon in Flin Flon is that it sits
astride the third "step" in the enigmatic crinkle-cut MB-SK boundary.
