We did go through two customs gates. I assume one wasSpanish (Ceuta) and the other Moroccan. Would the spacebetween them be the neutral zone. Lots of people were walkingtoward Ceuta on the other side of the fence in my picture and Irecall comments by our guide that some of the commerce thatgoes on is illegal. I suppose this could be in the neutral zone.JackGreat picture, and thanks for breaking this rule.Any signs of the neutral zone around Ceuta?Jesper----- Original Message -----From: Jack ParsellTo: Boundary PointSent: Tuesday, June 11, 2002 5:54 AMSubject: [BoundaryPoint] Ceuta
While on a guided tour in Spain in late April,
our group was taken to Morocco one day. We took
the ferry from Algesires,(across the bay from
Gibraltar), to Ceuta. Then by bus to Tetuoen,
Morocco for sightseeing and lunch, and later
returned to mainland Spain.
The top shot in the attached pictures is the
north shore of Ceuta from the ferry. The lower
picture is at the border returning from Morocco
into Ceuta. We were told absolutely no pictures
near the border, but I managed to get this one
out of the bus window. I could not see any
markings, monuments, posts or any evidence of
exactly where the border was. Not allowed to get
out of the bus to look around. Our passports
were collected going into Morocco and returned
when we went back into Ceuta. No stamps in the
passports.
It was a great trip with an excellent tour guide.
Going to Ceuta was an added bonus since I thought
we were going by ferry to Tangier rather than
Ceuta.
