I first heard of the Moldovan/Ukrainian agreement. The general
consensus here at BP seemed to be that they were not a true exclave,
but this seemed to depend on a fine reading of various reports that
seemed to me to be as consistent with an exclave as with a non-
exclave. So having had my fingers burned once by overinterpreting
skimpy data, I decided to leave this one on the books at present -
people can always pluck them out if their presence offends.(...)"

I think you're right, Grant. As far as I understood, the lands on the
other side of the road are at best Moldavian-owned pieces of land in
the Ukraine. The word "enclave" was mostly used in press articles by
authors who I suspect don't understand the implications and/or true
meaning of the word.

I'm not ruling out that these marshes are, indeed, a true enclave,
but the odds are definitely against that.
