Last week I paid a short visit to Berlin. Not liking travelling by
coach, I took the train there, as usual. However, this was the first
day-time passing of this particular border between the twin towns of
Frankfurt an der Oder (Germany) and S³ubice (Poland), which gave me
the opportunity to scan the area for border markers.

If you come by train, you enter Germany by crossing the Oder river.
On the German bank of the river, there is a border marker bearing the
number 482. On its Polish counterpart on the other bank, I couldn't
distinguish any number from the slow-moving train. If there is a
number on it, it must be on its backside, which can't be observed
from the train. This particular marker was not as well maintained as
the German one. It could use a fresh streak of paint, to put it
mildly.

Now on to my question: I'm sure that there are people on this list
who will have a detailed map displaying the course of the border
between Frankfurt/S³ubice. (There's a lot of water there. After
crossing the Oder river into Germany, there is more water and more
bridges. What kind of water is this?)
