Hi,

well this territory was not since the 18th century part of Liechtenstein
sovereign territory, it merely belonged to the house of Liechtenstein, as
private property. These were huge areas of woods and farm land etc.

At the moment there is a case pending at the International Court of Justice
between Germany and Liechtenstein, see:

http://www.icj-cij.org/icjwww/idocket/ila/ilaframe.htm

The basis for this case is that after WWII Germany gave up all rights to
private property of German nationals in Czechoslovakia. In this treaty
apparently Liechtenstein citizens were for some reason or the other included
and treated like Germans, without the consent of Liechtenstein. At least
this is how I understand it.

Greetings,
Anton Z.
