Thanks Jesperson, for this great story from this
(our first wet?) tripoint - anyhow, I'm a little dis-
appointed because of your fears of reaching the
actual tp in the water - a real border freak, especially
one of those descending from the Viking family -
shouldn't know the word "fear" at all..... :-)
Happy New Year- Denmark is missing you!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the southern part of our globe.

Have you every tried to discover an interesting geograpic feature - in our
cases mostly borders - researching on the case and then and up with more
questions that answers.

This is how I felt (and feel) about Cape Agulhas - the southern point of
Africa. The tripoint of Africa-Atlantic Ocean-Indian Ocean

How can the tip be exactly on the E20 lattitude (or longitude?) - Unless of
course it is a base for the world grid. I haven't been able find a good
enough map to determine if the tip really is E20, and so I went with my GPS.
As I was at Struisbai the GPS read E20 03, I thought wasn't able to reach
E20 00 000 for that short stretch, but as we parked up the thing said E20 00
081 - I walked towards the monument, and a few meters before the monument I
reached E20 00 000! The GPS should allow for 15 meters off,and with a little
patience I read E20 00 000 on the dot, going a little south of the monument
I read even S34 50 000 on the dot. I decided not to reach the actual tip, as
it is dangerous waters and the rocks are unsafe.

However, I will send you pics later.

Anyway, I concluded that the monument does indeed show the tripoint, but I
have doubts whether is is the actual southern spot.

I will probably go to the survey office tomorrow and there I will surely get
a good map of the cape.

All the best in the new year

Jesper
